I'm still here!

Hello, lovelies!!!! I just wanted to pop in quickly, and let you all know, I am still alive, promise! I had two surgeries, within a few months time, and they were MUCH harder to recover from than I was expecting, so I have been gone a lot longer than I was expecting! I have been working during this time, though!

There was a festival that was supposed to happen this past weekend, and I was all sorts of excited for it, so I spent an entire week KICKING FLOWER BUTT! Haha, I seriously made over 100 flowers in one week, which is a ton. Each flower takes me a minimum of 20 minutes, with most of them taking about 30 minutes, so...yeah, LOTS of time in the office. The festival ended up bombing, and I was down, depressed and dejected....for about a day, then I got over it! I now have a TON of new products, which I will be photographing and posting today and tomorrow. The best part? There are a whole bunch of wedding products! I am jumping, full on, head first, into the world of wedding accessories. Garters, hair pieces, veils, headbands, sashes, shoe clips, you name it! I'm soooo excited about this new adventure, and some of the stuff I've made already is pretty breathtaking, if I do say so myself!

Happy Autism Awareness Day!!

Good morning, everyone! Today is a very special day for my oldest son and I. He was diagnosed with Aspberger's, which will become part of the Austism Spectrum next year. He is AMAZING and wonderful, but each day is a series of struggles. The worst right now is dealing with his teachers and administrators at the school. They are quite obviously unaware of how to deal with spectrum disorders, and the more knowledge we can get out there, the better! We are all wearing blue today, in honor of my kiddo and all the other spectrum kiddos out there!!!!

Call for models

I have recently been hired to do several weddings. I am sooooo beyond honored, and have found quite the love for doing the wedding pieces. This makes me think some quality advertisements highlighting some of my wedding pieces. I am looking for some ladies who would be willing to dress up in various wedding dresses/outfits, bridesmaids dresses/outfits, and possibly some little kiddos dressed as flower girls, get their hair fixed up, and then pose like a super model to be featured in my ads! Let me know, I have a lovely photographer in mind, and just need to hunt down some wedding gowns, prom gowns, etc. Let me know if you have dresses we could rent, they don't have to be wedding gowns, I am also looking for bridesmaids dresses and prom dresses. We will be shooting at various times within the next month, so we can find a time that works best for you :-)

Spring is in the air!

It's true...I saw some green weeds growing in a crack on my driveway, two robins playing in the back yard, and a wasp in my garage! It is GORGEOUS outside today. Normally, I will admit, I'm not much of a sunshiney hot weather person, but it is truly nice out....I'm guessing about 60 ish degrees? With this lovely weather comes a crazed Jenei doing massive Spring cleaning, as well as gearing up for the summer market and wedding season! I've been hired to do at least TWO weddings this summer, and I'm hoping to do some more. Next year, if all goes well, I will be able to join in some of the bridal shows and gain even more of a following :-) For right now, I am just in full on prep mode. There are a bunch of events coming up, the first is the Just Between Friends sale in a few weeks, following shortly after that is the Autism Awareness Walk on April 21st. I have a team, if anyone would like to join me in this amazing cause! It's $10 per person to walk, and the proceeds to go the Alpine Autism Center. I will also be running a booth at the event with all kinds of tutus, flowers and accessories to support the cause. Shortly after that, TERRITORY DAYS!!!! This will be, by far, my biggest event EVER. I'm so nervous and excited all at the same time! Eek! I have a ton of products, I am scrambling to get them photographed and uploaded to the website, as well as a bunch that are being boxed carefully, anxiously awaiting their debut at the festivals! A tough order!!

Recently, a good customer of mine contacted me, wanting to know if I could create a flower for her. The inspiration? The Broadway play, Wicked, the song, Popular. I didn't figure that would be terribly difficult, but it WAS!!! There are simply NO decent photos of this flower ANYWHERE. I know, I searched for hours and days and days and hours. Seriously. This video is the best I could find, check it out and then see the photo I created from it. First time I've created a flower off of a video! I know the material isn't quite the same, but I thought it was fairly close!

Walk for Autism Awareness

Hey guys! Just wanted to pop in and let everyone know I've started a team for a very good cause! April is Autism Awareness month. My oldest kiddo has been diagnosed with Aspberger's, which falls under the same spectrum as Autism. In fact, next year, they are taking Aspberger's out of the books and just diagnosing as varying degrees of Autism.
